Jake Maccoby - Founder
Jake Maccoby is a speechwriter, strategist, and communications advisor who helps turn complex ideas into compelling narratives. An alum of the Obama Administration and the campaign trail with extensive private-sector experience, Jake has spent his career working with some of the world’s most recognizable people – from presidents and royalty to multinational executives, global philanthropists, international pop stars, and professional athletes. His speeches have been delivered in forums from the White House to the United Nations; his writing has appeared in outlets ranging from The New York Times to Teen Vogue; and he has prepared presidential candidates for nationally-televised debates in four consecutive presidential campaigns.
Before founding JDMaccoby Strategies, Jake ran a media company in New York and launched an award-winning podcast. During the Obama Administration, he served as Chief Speechwriter and Strategic Communications Advisor to Attorney General Eric Holder, helping articulate the nation’s most sensitive policy priorities to national and international audiences. Prior to his time in government, he worked at SKDKnickerbocker, where he crafted communications strategies and coached nominees through U.S. Senate confirmation hearings, and served as a legislative aide to a state senator in Massachusetts. He began his career writing jokes for The Colbert Report on Comedy Central.
Jake is a graduate of Tufts University, a frequent guest lecturer at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and a regular presence on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, CNBC, and HLN. He lives in Washington, DC, with his wife and daughter.
